Collaboration Guidelines
The following information is provided to help focus this collaboration effort.
[edit]
About the PoliticWiki Mission
- The primary goal is to create a political platform through collaborative discussion and editing.
- Secondary goals, to be determined by the PoliticWiki community, may include anything that does not detract from the primary goal (creation of a political platform by community editors).
[edit]
About the PoliticWiki Community
- This wiki community will be comprised of solicited and unsolicited members who agree at the time their accounts are created to contribute their identity and content to this research.
- The expected diversity of opinion, demographics and technical experience within the community will likely create points of tension between members.
- Assume positive intent at all times, and be responsible for your own actions.
- Only in extreme cases will member rights be restricted or withdrawn. The community is empowered to establish PoliticWiki protocols for behavior.
[edit]
About the Wiki Application
- This wiki application is a modified version of the open source MediaWiki application.
- The community is welcome to make specific requests for improvements to the application. However, do not expect major changes during the course of this research.
- Some wiki pages have been created to assist editors in publishing content, but there are other resources available on the web to explain the etiquette and technical manipulation of this site.
- It is up to each contributing member to learn how this application functions, at least as much as will permit contributions toward the primary mission of PoliticWiki.
[edit]
About your PoliticWiki Experience
- As a member of PoliticWiki, you may contribute as much or as little as you deem necessary to advance the mission of the site.
- Personal user pages are available to permit you to personalize your corner of PoliticWiki or to create your own navigation structure to help you revisit published content.
- Technical and interpersonal problems you may experience should be addressed first through the wiki. If you cannot resolve a problem to your satisfaction there, contact Kevin Makice via email at kmakice@indiana.edu for assistance.
- All participants will have completed an initial survey prior to gaining editing access to this web site.
- All participants are expected to complete a second survey and may be asked to participate in a follow-up interview at the conclusion of this project.
